FiveNine Optics manufactures mirrors and coatings in the range of 250 to 3000 nm. Our coatings are produced using state-of-the-art Ion Beam Sputtering (IBS) technology. We use the most modern manufacturing equipment to meet the highest standards in the industry.

Our areas of specialty are: low-losses, high power, critical specifications, and above all, supporting you from concept to completion. FiveNine optics is a small, custom coating house founded by an industry leading team. With many decades of experience making IBS coatings, as well as building companies, the team at FiveNine has the skill and experience needed to make us the best.

Ramin Lalezari
President & Co-Founder

Ramin has over 30 years experience in the industry.  He has successfully brought two optical component manufacturing companies from infancy to success.  With wide experience in the design, manufacturing, and end use of optics and laser components, Ramin brings unique value to our clients.

Rob Patterson
VP & Co-Founder

Rob brings over 20 years experience in the manufacturing of optical components. He knows the business inside and out—from facility construction and coating design to application ideation and customer relationship management.

Zach Gerig
VP of Operations
Zach is VP of Operations overseeing Coating, Fabrication, Scheduling, Quality, and Logistics. Zach has 20 years experience in Coating Engineering and Management for some of the most difficult projects in the Optics industry. Zach has won 1st place at the International OIC Manufacturing Competition twice for making coatings closest to challenging specifications. Zach graduated from Colorado School of Mines with a BS in Mechanical Engineering with a Minor in Physics.
Howard Champoux
VP of Sales
Howard has been an engineer in the optics industry for 20 years and brings a wealth of insight and experience of realizing customer designs from drawing to delivery. Howard has a BS Metallurgy from the Colorado School of Mines, MS Material Science from Cornell University, and GCert Optical Science from the University of Arizona.
